Jesus Sends Out the Twelve Apostles<\/span><\/h3>\n

5\u00a0<\/sup>These twelve Jesus sent out, instructing them, \u201cGo nowhere among the Gentiles and enter no town of the Samaritans,<\/span><\/span> 6\u00a0<\/sup>but go rather to the lost sheep of the house of Israel.<\/span><\/span> 7\u00a0<\/sup>And proclaim as you go, saying, \u2018The kingdom of heaven is at hand.\u2019<\/span><\/span> 8\u00a0<\/sup>Heal the sick, raise the dead, cleanse lepers,[a<\/a>]<\/sup> cast out demons. You received without paying; give without pay.<\/span><\/span> 9\u00a0<\/sup>Acquire no gold or silver or copper for your belts,<\/span><\/span> 10\u00a0<\/sup>no bag for your journey, or two tunics[b<\/a>]<\/sup> or sandals or a staff, for the laborer deserves his food.<\/span><\/span> 11\u00a0<\/sup>And whatever town or village you enter, find out who is worthy in it and stay there until you depart.<\/span><\/span> 12\u00a0<\/sup>As you enter the house, greet it.<\/span><\/span> 13\u00a0<\/sup>And if the house is worthy, let your peace come upon it, but if it is not worthy, let your peace return to you.<\/span><\/span> 14\u00a0<\/sup>And if anyone will not receive you or listen to your words, shake off the dust from your feet when you leave that house or town.<\/span><\/span> 15\u00a0<\/sup>Truly, I say to you, it will be more bearable on the day of judgment for the land of Sodom and Gomorrah than for that town.<\/span><\/span><\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"
