The Common Thread of Discipleship

Every outreach of Resurrection Of Hope Ministries, whether educational sponsorship, feeding the hungry, vocational outreach, or medical care, is accompanied with Biblical teaching and spiritual encouragement in the sharing of a joyous life in Christ. We know that nourishing the physical needs of the people we serve is not the ultimate goal. By being built up in love, we long to see them fed spiritually and restored into a right relationship with God.

Our team sees every outreach as an opportunity to answer the call of Jesus to go and make disciples. The mentors working in our Education sponsorship Outreach as well as in the community of the world are not expected to work solely as social workers. Their very necessary purpose on our team is to truly love and disciple the children and families that we serve. They seek out relationships with the intended goal of seeing disciples being made in homes and schools throughout the world and this is merely one example of how each of our staff members seeks to first see the Cross of Jesus in how we serve others.

As you continue reading and learning more about Resurrection Of Hope Ministries’s work across the globe, we hope that you continue to see the call to discipleship in what we do and how we do it. It is our belief that the Bible defines the act of caring for others in a way that is strengthened by relationships that mirror the discipleship model of Jesus Christ and that is only possible through Jesus Christ himself. There is much work yet to do in service to our great God, and we are well pleased to serve and work in a way that encourages others toward the way, the truth and the life.

We ask you to join us in prayer over the ways in which we hope discipleship will take root deep in the core of everything we do and every relationship we build. Pray also that the hope for the children and families we serve to become disciples and lifelong followers of Christ would be ever at the forefront of our hearts as we work and serve.

“Therefore go and make disciples of all nations, baptizing them in the name of the Father and of the Son and of the Holy Spirit, and teaching them to obey everything I have commanded you. And surely I am with you always, to the very end of the age.” – Matthew 28:19-20 (NIV)

“So Christ himself gave the apostles, the prophets, the evangelists, the pastors and teachers, to equip his people for works of service, so that the body of Christ may be built up until we all reach unity in the faith and in the knowledge of the Son of God and become mature, attaining to the whole measure of the fullness of Christ. Then we will no longer be infants, tossed back and forth by the waves, and blown here and there by every wind of teaching and by the cunning and craftiness of people in their deceitful scheming. Instead, speaking the truth in love, we will grow to become in every respect the mature body of him who is the head, that is, Christ. From him the whole body, joined and held together by every supporting ligament, grows and builds itself up in love, as each part does its work.” – Ephesians 4:11-16 (NIV)
